MOON

Driving home from a dinner with friends tonight, and the full moon slowly brightened like a lamp's wick in the sky; slowly being turned up as it rose between the clouds. As I turned to the dirt road up the mountain, the sky became an archipelago of clouds, their edges vast beaches reflecting the moon, catching the stars.

Shunryu Suzuki says: "When we see part of the moon covered by a cloud, or a tree, or a weed, we feel how round the moon is."

So it is with our life. It's the obstacles that give our life its roundness, that show us its preciousness.

May you have experiences tomorrow that make you see your life, the way a branch or cloud makes us really see the moon.

Namaste.
