If I am going to run another marathon (and I said IF) then it may as well be the biggest, baddest, most famous and most fun: aka: the NEW YORK MARATHON. They will get 97,000 applications for only 37,000 slots so its a gamble. Though they have some sort of guaranteed entry thingie this year if you do some charity thing. I'll have to check that out. Anyway, if you've never run the course, here's the whole thing, by car, in 7 min. The musics not bad either.
